Given:-

  • Side of square field = 40 m

To find:-

  • Area of the field.
  • Cost of weeding the field at the rate of 2 per square metre.

Solution:-

We know,

Area of Square = (side)²

= \sf{Area\: of \:field = (40)^2}

= \sf{Area\:of\:field = 40\times40}

= \sf{Area\:of\:field = 1600\:m^2}

Now,

Cost of weeding 1 m² = Rs.2

= \sf{Cost\:of\:weeding\:1600\:m^2 = 2\times1600}

= \sf{Cost\:of\:weeding\:1600\:m^2 = 3200}

Therefore cost of weeding the field at rate of Rs.2 per metre square is Rs.3200.

Formulas Used:-

  • Area of Square = (side)² sq.units.

Extra Formulas:-

  • Perimeter of square = (4×side) units
  • Area of rectangle = (Length×Breadth) sq.units
  • Perimeter of rectangle = 2(Length + Breadth) units.
