DISTANCE COVERED = 150 KM

let speed be x

and time be y

as we know

distance = speed* time

      150 = xy

y = 150/x   .................. 1

as per the Question

150 mins =2.5hrs

(x+10) (y-2.5)  =150 [ as distance will be same ]

xy+10y-2.5x -25 = 150((xy)

2.5x-10y+25 =  0

substituting value of y in terms of x from equation 1

2.5x - 10 * 150/x +25 = 0

     2.5x²  +25x   -1500  = 0

by

(-b ± √D)/2a   we can find the ans

D  =  b²  -  4ac

   =  25² -4 (-1500)( 2.5 )

   =  625 +15000

   = 15625

√D = 125

( -25 ± 125)/(2*2.5)

so the ans are

20 or -30

but speed can't be negative

so the is 20km/hr
