Answer:

Given

No of heads =60

No of legs =190

Let the number of goats be x

Let the number of chickenss be y

So each of them have 1 head .and each chicken has 2 legs where as each goat have 4 legs

Total heads =>heads of goats +heads of chickens =20

x+y=60 ———-(1)

Total legs =>legs of goats +legs of chickens =76

4*x+2*y=190 ——-(2)

Solving equations 1 and 2 gives

x=18 and y=2

No of goats =?

No of chickens =?

you can try your self plz ok

Answer:

Number of goats - 35

Number of hens - 25

Step-by-step explanation:

total number of heads is 60.

So, let the number of goats be x and the number of hens be y.

so, according to the question,

x+y= 60. ……………… (1)

and 4x + 2y = 190. ………………(2)

so,

Now, we need to solve these two equations.

Multiply the first equation by 4.

so, we will get - 4(x + y = 60)

= 4x +4y = 240. ……………(3)

Now, subtracting equation 2 from equation 3 , we get -

(4x +4y)- (4x + 2y) = 240 - 190

or, 4x + 4y - 4x - 2y = 50

or, 2y = 50

or, y = 25

Hence, the number of hens is 25.

Now, we need to calculate the number of goats.

So,

putting the value of y = 25 in equation (1) we get -

x + y = 60

or, x + 25 = 60

or, x = 60 - 25

or, x = 35

Hence, the number of goats is 35.
