Solution:

Let the broken part of the tree be x m.

The unbroken part of the tree is 15 m

Base of the tree is 20 m.

By Pythagoras theoram

( x) ² = ( 15) ² + ( 20 )²

x ² = 225 + 400

x ² = 625

x = 25 m

The height of full tree = 15 m + broken part

= 15 + 25

= 40 m.

Hence the height of full tree was 40 m.
