1192 A.D. he again attacked Prithviraj
Chauhan with a larger and trained army. This
time, he won the Second Battle of Tarain. In this
battle Prithviraj Chauhan was defeated and he
died in the battlefield like a Rajput hero. Ghori
also defeated King Jaichand of Kannauj. The
defeat of Prithviraj Chauhan marked the end of
Rajput rule in India. Ghori appointed Qutub-ud-
din Aibak as his governor and left him in India
to complete his task of more conquests. He was
murdered in 1206 A.D. In the end, Qutub-ud-din
