your friend is very good at cricket he had played at state &distric level from school
1-Now he want his parents are relucting to grant him permission ?
2-why his parents are reluctant to permit him?

his parents are relucant to permit him because they think may be think that there is no money or work int he field of sports they must be short minded in the case of sports. in my opinion his parents must grant him permission.what we know if he got selected in the  national level or international. if he got chance than he can achieve a very good sucess. but its all in the hands of his parents.so i would like tosay that parents are not allowing him to give permission because of their sort mind in th field of cricket or sptorts. but they shld grant permission to him.as he can achieve a good sucess in his life in the crickt.
