Explanation:

Weight of car , W = 10000 N .

Angle make by car on hill , \theta=20^{\circ}θ=20∘ .

To Find :

The components of car's weight parallel and perpendicular to the road.

Solution :

We know , parallel component is given by :

\begin{lgathered}F_p=W\sin\ \theta\\\\F_p=10000\times \sin\ 20^o\\\\F_p=3420.2\ N\end{lgathered}Fp=Wsin θFp=10000×sin 20oFp=3420.2 N

Also , perpendicular component is given by :

\begin{lgathered}F_{per}=W\cos\ \theta\\\\F_{per}=10000\times\cos\ 20^o\\\\F_{per}=9396.9\ N\end{lgathered}Fper=Wcos θFper=10000×cos 20oFper=9396.9 N

Therefore , the components of car's weight parallel and perpendicular to the road is 3420.2 N and 9396.9 N respectively .
