11x^2 - 18x + 7

11x^2 -(7 + 11)x + 7

11x^2 -7x - 11x + 7

x(11x - 7) -1 (11x - 7)

(x-1)(11x-7)

This expression has been factorised by the method of splitting the mid value.

Answer:

a = 11

b = 18

c = 7

Multiplying a and c

a = 11

c = 7

a × c

11 × 7 = 77

by prime factorization of 77 we get 11 and 7 as it's factors.

SO,

11 {x}^{2}  + 18x + 7 \\ 11 {x  }^{2}  + 7x + 11x + 7 \\ x(11x + 7) + 1(11x + 7) \\  (11 + 7)(x + 1) \\ 11x  + 7 = 0 \: and \: x + 1 = 0 \\ x =  \frac{ - 7}{11} and \: x =  - 1
