  1. Since,water when it comes to 4 degree celcius the anamolous behaviour of water starts and the density of the water is most at this point.
  2. The temperature of the water at the surface drops to 0 degree celcius and it become ice.
  3. Due to the thick layer of ice the water below it does not freezes and the aquatic life remains safe
