Given :-

12 33 28

9 12 ?

13 40 17

Solution :-

Logic :- {2*(First number of column) - third number} - {2(Third Number - First number)} = second Number .

Explanation :-

in first column :- 12, 9, 13

→ (2*12 - 13) - 2(13 - 12)

→ (24 - 13) - (2 * 1)

→ 11 - 2

9 = Second Number.

Similarly,

in second column :- 33, 12, 40

→ (2*33 - 40) - |2(40 - 33)|

→ (66- 40) - (2 * 7)

→ 26 - 14

12 = Second Number.

therefore, applying same Logic in 3rd column we get,

in third column :- 28, ?, 17

→ (2*28 - 17) - 2(17 - 28)

→ (56- 17) - {2 * (-11)}

→ 39 - (-22)

→ 39 + 22

61 = Second Number. (Ans.)
