12. (a) A man had * 25,000. He gives a loan of 4000 at 3/2% simple interest
and 12,000 at 4% simple interest. By what rate of interest the remaining
money will be given as loan so that from the interest he will earn 1250
per annum ?​

Rs.4000 @ 3/2% for a year = prt/100  = 4000 * 3/200 * 1 = 60

Rs.12000 @ 4% for a year   = 12000 * 4/100 * 1 = 480

Balance Amount he has = 25000 - 4000 -12000 = 9000

Interest to be earned = 1250

Less already earned = 480 + 60 = 540

Balance = 1250 - 540 = 710

so let the Rate of interest = x

then 9000 * x/100 * 1 = 710

x = 710 *100/9000 = 7.89%
