Answer: Distance= Speed x Time( From Speed= Distance/Time)

Distance = 42 x 5= 210 km

As speed is increased by 8 km/hr,

New speed= 42+8= 50 km/hr

Time= distance/ speed

Time= 210/50

= 4.2 hr

Time saved= 5 - 4.2= 0.8 hr

Hope it helps!!!!

Step-by-step explanation:

Speed of the bus =42km/h

Time = 5hrs

(Distance=Speed×Time)

=42×5= 210 km

Now,

Increased speed = 8km/h

New speed = (42+8) km/h

=50km/h

Distance = 210 km

Time taken = Distance/ New Speed

=210km/50km/h

=4.2h

Time saved = 5hrs - 4.2hrs=0.8hrs or 48 min
