12. A converging lens forms a real and inverted image of an object at a distance of 100cm from it. Where should an object
be placed in front of the lens, so that the size of the image is twice the size of the object? Also, calculate the power of a

here os your answer

the lens is converging,it is convex

image dist. v=100

m=2

-v/u=2

u=-100/2

u=-50

according to lens formula,

1/f=1/v - 1/u

1/f=1/100 - 1/-50

1/f=1/100 = + 1/50

1/f =(1+2)/100

1/f = 3/100

f=100/3

f=33.33

hence,

power,p=1/f(in m)

p=1/33.33 × 10^-2

p=3D

hope this helps:-)
