A lawn is laid in the centre, leaving a 2 m broad
path all around. Find the area of the inner lawn

Area of the field =

$20 \times 16 = 320 {m}^{2}$

length of the lawn = 20 – 2 = 18 m

breadth of the lawn = 16 – 2 = 14 m

therefore , area of the lawn =

$18 \times 14 = 252 {m}^{2}$

area of the path =

$320 {m}^{2} - 252 {m}^{2} = 68 {m}^{2}$

cost of paving the path = 20 × 68

= ₹ 1360
