12. A ship sends ultrasonic waves to the bottom of
the sea to locate a sunken ship. It takes 2.5 s to
receive back the waves sent. If the velocity of
these waves in seawater is 1,450 m s-1, find the
depth at which the sunken ship is located.

I want this to be solved in copy.

The time taken by the ultrasonic wave = 2.5 s

The velocity of this = 1450 ms-¹

So the distance between the ship and the sunken

= vt/2

= 1450 × 25 /2 ×10

=1812.5 m

So the depth at which the sunken ship is located is 1812.5 m.

Hope this helps you friend
