Given,

Initial Velocity (u) = 400 m/s

Final Velocity (v) = 0

Acceleration (a) = -10 m/s

Time taken to stop (t) = ?

Distance travelled before it stops (s) = ?

We know that ,

t = (v-u)÷a = (-400)÷(-10) = 40 seconds Ans.

Also ,

s = (v² - u²)÷2a = (0 - 160000)÷(-10)

=> s = 16000 metres = 16 kilometres Ans.
