Answer

Perimeter of Square ⇒ 4 × Side

Perimeter of Square ⇒ 40 cm

Length of 1 side ⇒ Perimeter ÷ 4

Length of 1 side ⇒ 40 ÷ 4 = 10 cm

Area of square ⇒ Side²

Area of square ⇒ 10² = 100 cm²

Perimeter of rectangle ⇒ 2 × (l + b)

Perimeter of rectangle ⇒ 40 cm

Length of breadth ⇒ 8 cm

Length of length ⇒ 2 × (l + 8)

2l+16 = 40

2l=40-16

2l = 24

l = 24\div 2

l =12 \ cm

Area of rectangle ⇒ Length × Breadth

Area of rectangle ⇒ 12 × 8 = 96 cm²

∴The area of square is more than the rectangle.

∴ 100 > 96

∴ The difference between the area of the square and rectangle is 100 - 96 = 4
