Sample space (S) = {2, 3, 4 ...98, 99}

n(S) = 98

(i) An integer is divisible by 8 E = {8, 16, 24, 32 ... 96}

n(E) = 12

 \sf[ n= \frac{96 - 8}{8} + 1  ]

Probability of chosen a number divisible by 8

P(E) = n(E)/n(S)

= 12/98

= 6/49

Probability of chosen a number divisible by 8

= 6/49

(ii) Probability of chosen a number is not divisible by 8 = P (bar E)

 \sf \: p(E) = 1 - p(E)

 \sf = 1 -  \frac{6}{49}  =  \frac{49 - 6}{49}

 \sf \: p(E) =  \frac{43}{49}

Probability of chosen a number is not divisible by 8 = 43/49.
