Answer:

Although plastics have many properties which makes it very useful in our daily lives, yet we should try to avoid them as far as possible. This is because plastics are non-biodegradable. The waste created by plastics is not environment-friendly, which on burning release poisonous gases. Plastics may take years to degrade and keep on piling up and hence are an environmental hazard for the living community.

Answer:

#1 Plastic bags pollute our land and water

Because they are so lightweight, plastic bags get easily picked up by wind and travel long distances by wind and water to pollute the nature. Plastic bag litter has even caused great problems in some areas.

Plastic bags are a convenient way to carry our purchased goods when we go shopping. They are a part of our modern lives, and we don’t tend to think much about them. In fact, it is estimated that up to 10 million plastic bags are used every minute around the world [1].

300 to 700 plastic bags pass through the hands of an average American in just one year [8] and a survey of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs concluded that the average household in the United Kingdom stores around 40 plastic shopping bags at home [2].
