12 cows --------> 10days
therefore 1cow---->10/12 days
Now 20 cows will graze in 20 x (10/12) = 50/3days
therefore 1cow---->10/12 days
Now 20 cows will graze in 20 x (10/12) = 50/3days

Question :
12 cows can graze a field for 10 days . In how many days will 20 cows graze the same field ?
Answer :
20 cows will graze the same field in 6days.
Given :
No.of days 12 cows take to graze the field = 10
To find :
No.of days 20 cows will take to graze the field
Solution :
Since greater number of cows will take lesser number of days , hence it is an inverse variation.
Let , x1 = 12 , x2 = 20 , y1 = 10
then y2 = ?
According to inverse variation ,
x1/x2 = y2/y1
=> 12 / 20 = y2 / 10
=> 12 × 10 = 20 × y2
=> 120 = 20y2
=> y2 = 120/20
y2 = 6
Hence, 20 cows will graze the same field in 6days.
