Let the mean proportion be x,

= $\dfrac{2}{x}$ = $\dfrac{x}{8}$

= ${x}^{2}$ = 2 × 8

= ${x}^{2}$ = 16

= x = √16

= x = 4

The mean proportion is 4.

Let the mean proportion be x,

= $\dfrac{5}{x}$ = $\dfrac{x}{125}$

= ${x}^{2}$ = 5 × 125

= ${x}^{2}$ = 625

= x = √625

= x = 25

Let the mean proportion be x,

= $\dfrac{4}{x}$ = $\dfrac{x}{36}$
