Answer:

50 dozen bananas = 135 Rs.

Rotten bananas = 5

Remaining bananas = 45 dozens

. Profit required = 20% on 135 = 27

Selling price should be 135+27 = 162 Selling price per dozen = 162/45 = 3.6

Answer:

Question:-

Harish purchased 50 dozen bananas for Rs 135. Five dozen bananas could not be sold because they were rotten. At what price should Harish sell the remaining bananas to make a profit of 20%?

Solution:-

To solve this question, we use unitary method.

1 dozen = 12

50 dozens = 600

Price of 600 bananas = 135

Price of 1 banana = 135/600

= 0.225

Rotten bananas = 5 dozens

= 60

Bananas left = 600 - 60

= 540

Price of 540 bananas = 0.225 × 540

= 121.5

But Harish wants to sell the bananas at a profit of 20%

20/100 × 135

= 1/5 × 135

= 27

135 + 27

= 162

SP per dozen = 162/45 [45 dozens left]

= 3.6

Harish should sell the bananas at Rs 162 to make a profit of 20%

Hope it helps
