1Universal history is divided according to the following classifucations.

a.Historical time is divided between B.C (Before Christ) and A.D(Anno Domini)

b. Another way is according to ages:

i. Ancient history (3600 B.C.-500 A.D.)

II. The middle ages (500-1500 A.D.)

III. The modern age (1500 till present)

The division according to ages is absent in the Arabic histrographies.

Answer:

In the middle of the nineteenth century British historians divided the history of India into three periods: “Hindu”, “Muslim” and “British”. This division was based on the idea that the religion of rulers was the only important historical change, and that there were no other significant developments – in the economy, society or culture.
