Given Info : the resultant is equal to 0.6 times the magnitude of two equal forces.

To find : The angle between the forces is nearer to ..

solution : let magnitude of each force is F

then, resultant, F' = 0.6 F

resultant of two vectors can be given as R = √(A² + B² + 2AB cosθ)

here, A = F , B = F and R = 0.6 F

so, 0.6F = √(F² + F² + 2F² cosθ)

⇒(0.6F)² = 2F² + 2F² cosθ

⇒0.36F² = 2F² + 2F² cosθ

⇒0.36 = 2 + 2cosθ

⇒0.36 - 2 = 2cosθ

⇒cosθ = -1.64/2 = -0.82

⇒θ = cos¯¹(-0.82) ≈ 145°

Therefore the angle between forces is 145°
