Gas is hydrogen,This is because during electrolysis of water hydrogen and oxygen are present in 2:1, so Thatswhy hydrogen gas is doubled as compared to oxygen

2H2O -----------------'`2 H2 +O2
You can see from above reaction, Hydrogen And oxygen are in 2:1...Ans

HOPE IT HELPS..

Answer:

In electrolysis of water :

a ) . Hydrogen gas collected at cathode. And oxygen gas gas collect at anode.

b ) . We know that in water there is 2 hydrogen atom and 1 oxygen atom. That's why volume of gas collected at one electrode double than the other.
