Solution:

Given: ABCD is a parallelogram, in which

DE perpendicular to AB,

AB = 60 m and

AD = 50 m

Area of a parallelogram = 2400m2

 =  > base  \times height = 2400m2

 =  > 60m \times h = 2400m2

 =  > 60 \times h = 2400m

 =  > h =  \frac{2400}{60} m

 =  > h = 40m

 =  > de = 40m

AE = √AD² - DE2 (here DE2 is DE sq.)

= √50² - 40²

= √(50+40) (50-40)

= √90 × 10

= √9 × 10 × 10

= √3 × 3 × 10 × 10

= 3 × 10
