Jizya was charged as a separate tax by Firuz Shah Tughlaq. Firuz Shah Tughlaq imposed jizya on non-Muslims i.e. Hindus and Brahmins.

EXPLANATION:

Jizya was a tax that was first introduced by Mohammad Bin Qasim in 712 AD. It was a tax which was imposed on non-Muslims for protection in Muslim states.

The jizya was re-introduced by Qutub-din-Aibak but was later abolished by Akbar for a short time period. However, women and children were exempted from paying this tax.
