12. Maria, Carolina and Pedro receive $800 from their
grandmother in the ratio
Maria: Carolina: Pedro = 7:5:4.
(a) Calculate how much money each receives.
(b) Maria spends of her money and then invests the rest

12a) Maria : Carolina : Pedro = 7:5:4

Since they totally received $800

Total parts = 7+5+4

= 16 total parts

-> 16 parts = $800

-> 1 part = $800/16

1 part = $50

Maria :

7*50=$350

Carolina :

5*50 = $250

Pedro :

4*50=$200

That’s how much they each receive
