12 men can complete a work in 8 hours a day. How many men can do the same work in 6 days by working same hour in a day.

I assume that all of the men work at the same rate. If 12 men can do it in 8 days and each man does the same portion, 1 man can do 1/12 of the job in 8 days or 1/(12*8)=1/96 of the job per day. In order to do it in 6 days, the overall rate needs to be 1/6 of the job per day. 1/96 (jobs/day)/worker * w workers=1/6 jobs/day, (1/6)/(1/96)=16 workers.
