( 12 × 18 ) - ( 12 × 6 )

= 216 - 72 = 144

144 ÷ ( 12 + 4 )

= 144/16

= 9 days

Answer:

9 days.

Step-by-step explanation:

Twelve men can complete a work in 18 days.

12 men 1 day work = \frac{1}{18}

12 men 6 days work =\frac{6}{18} = \frac{1}{3}

Remaining work =1-\frac{1}{3}=\frac{2}{3}

After 6 days 4 more men joined them.

1 men 1 day work =\frac{1}{18 \times 12}

16 men 1 day work = \frac{1}{18 \times 12} \times 16

                                = \frac{2}{27}

So, 16 men complete \frac{2}{27} part of work in days = 1

16 men complete whole work in days = \frac{1}{\frac{2}{27}}

16 men complete  \frac{2}{3} part of work in days:

= \frac{1}{\frac{2}{27}} \times \frac{2}{3}

=  9

So, they will take 9 days more altogether to complete the work .
