Answer :

Son's present age = 20 years

Ram's present age = 60 years

Solution :

Hence ,

It is given that , Ram's age is 3 times his son's age .

Thus ,

Let son's present age = x years

Then ,

Ram's present age = 3x years

Also ,

Son's age 10 years ago = (x - 10) years

Ram's age 10 years ago = (3x - 10) years

Now ,

According to the question , ten years ago Ram was 5 times his son's age .

Thus ,

=> 3x - 10 = 5(x - 10)

=> 3x - 10 = 5x - 50

=> 5x - 3x = 50 - 10

=> 2x = 40

=> x = 40/2

=> x = 20

Hence ,

• Son's present age = x years

= 20 years

• Ram's present age = 3x years

= 3•20 years

= 60 years

Given :

  • Rama's age is three times his sons age.
  • Ten years ago he was five times his son's age.

To find :

  • Thier present age

According to the question,

Let son's present age be x

And Ram's present age be 3x

Now,

Son's age ten years ago will be (x + 10)

Ram's age ten years ago will be (3x + 10)

So,the final equation will be :-

→ 3x + 10 = 5(x + 10)

→ 3x + 10 = 5x + 50

→ 5x - 3x = 50 - 10

→ 2x = 40

→ x = 40 ÷ 2

.°. x = 20
