People living in different geographical areas dwell in different types of houses.
The ways in which they build their houses are many. While the people in Kashmir traditionally live in
house-boats floating in a lake, African tribes prefer dwelling in houses built close to nature on the trees.
Eskimos in the Tundra region live in special houses known as igloos, Nomadive tribes prefer being put up
in temporary tents as they wander from place to place. The people in big metropolitan cities have learnt
to reside in big skyscrapers which are a complete contrast to the houses on trees and point to horizontal
space constraint in these areas.

Different people from different cities and countries dwell in different types of houses. What type of a house needs to be built depends on various factors which include climatic conditions of a place, availability of space, infrastructural facilities available and many other reasons. Houseboats in Kashmir were primarily built because of historical reasons. The Kings during the British rule did not allow foreigners to build houses in Kashmir.
