Correct Question :

A student during a practical exam connects various components as shown in the circuit diagram.

His main aim is to draw graph between current and voltage. But he is unable to get the readings.

i. What according to you is wrong in the circuit?

ii. Draw the correct circuit diagram?

iii. Can we interchange key 'K' and ampere meter 'A' in the circuit?

iv. What will be the reading on ampere meter?

v. Red object which viewed in blue light appears -

( a ) Red

( b ) Blue

( c ) White

( d ) Black

Solution -

The given circuit is completely wrong .

This is because , ammeter can be connected in series, but voltmeter has to be connected in parallel .

The correct circuit diagram will be where, the voltmeter is connected in parallel with the resistance in the circuit .

The image is in the attachment above .

Yes.

The key , ' k ' and the ammeter can be interchanged without any disruption in the circuit.

To calculate the reading of the ammeter :

R = 10 Ω

Voltage = 5V

According to Ohm ' s law ;

V = IR

=> 5 = 10 I

=> I = ( 5/10 ) = 0.5 A

So , the ammeter will read 0.5 Ampere's .

Red object which viewed in blue light appears black .

This is because a red object appears red, as it reflects red color in red light only .

In blue light , it has to appear black .
