Simple present tense :
I) It is mainly used to express habitual action, habit or custom.
Examples:
1. I watch television on Sunday.
2. She gets up every morning at 6 o'clock.
3. My shop opens at 9 o'clock.
4. He walks in the evening.
5. I do exercise every morning.
II) To talk about a general or universal truth.
Examples :
1. Earth revolves around the Sun.
2. The Sun rises in the East.
3. Two and two makes four .
4. Honesty is the best policy.
III) To indicate a future event which is a part of a plant or arrangement.
Examples:
1. The School reopens next week.
2. The examination commences next month.
IV) To introduce quotation with the verb 'says'.
Example:
1. Newton says, " Every action has an equal and opposite reaction".
V) Exclamatory sentences that begin with here or there.
Example:
