a) 2x - 12 = 4

→ 2x = 4 + 12

→ 2x = 16

→ x = 16/2

x = 8

b) y/3 = 16

→ y = 16 ༝ 3

y = 48

c) 3z + 11 = -16

→ 3z = -16 -11

→ 3z = 27

→ z = 27/3

z = 9

d) 7p + 17 = 38

→ 7p = 38 - 17

→ 7p = 21

→ p = 21/7

p = 3

Answer:

a) 2x - 12 = 4

2x= 4 +12

x=16 / 2

b) y/3=16

y = 16 × 3

y= 48

c) 3z = -16 - 11

3z = -27

z=-27÷3

z = -9

d) 7p = 38 - 17

7p = 21

p = 21 ÷ 7

p = 3
