let the unit digit be x

let the tens digit be y

original no. =10y+x

y=3x (according to question)---[1]

Reversed no. =10x+y

(10y+x) - (10x+y) =36

10y+x-10x-y=36

9y-9x=36

9(y-x)=36

y-x=4-----[2]

Substituting the value of 1st equation in 2nd

3x-x=4

2x=4

x=2
