Answer:

Area under the s-t graph will give the distance. The distance covered is equal to the area of the rectangle ABCD. Its value is ABCD=(30min−10min)×10km/hr)

=20 min×10 km/hr

=6020 hr×10 km/hr=310 km

Given info : The graph shown below represents the speed and time graph of a truck.

To find : 1. Distance covered by the truck between t = 30 min to t = 40 min.

2. Distance covered by the truck between t = 10 min to t = 40 min.

3. Calculate the speed of truck.

4. Calculate acceleration of the truck.

solution : distance covered by the truck = area enclosed by the graph

1. distance covered = area of rectangle of length 15km/h and breath (40 - 30) min = 10min

= 15 km/h × 10min = 15 km/h × (10/60)h = 2.5 km

2. Distance covered by the truck = area of rectangle of length (40 - 10)min and breath 15 km/h

= 30min × 15 km/h

= (30/60) h × 15 km/h

= 7.5 km

3. Seed of truck remains constant because graph of speed and time is parallel to time axis.

So, speed of truck = 15 km/h

4. acceleration of truck = 0 because speed of truck remains constant so change in speed = 0.
