Solution :-

Given : The ratio between the present ages of P and Q is 3 : 4 respectively.

Q's present age is 20 years.

Let the present age of P = x years

According to the question,

=> x/20 = 3/4

=> 4x = 20 × 3

=> x = 60/4 = 15 years

Ratio of their ages after 5 years :

(15 + 5) / (20 + 5)

= 20/25

= 4/5 = 4 : 5

Hence,

The ratio of their ages after 5 years = 4 : 5

Answer:

Given

  • the ratio between the present ages of P and Q is 3:4
  • Q's present age is 20 years

let the age if P be x years

therefore by the given condition

x/20=3/4

x=(3/4)into20

x=(3into20)/4

x=60/4

x=15

therefore the present age of P is 15 years

after 5 years the age of P will be (15+5)

=20

and after 5 years the age Q will be (20+5)

=25

then the ratio of there ages after 5 years will be

20/25

=4/5

therefore ratio of there ages after 5 years will be 4:5

hope it helps....
