Answer:

Let B = X

A=3X

X=60-A

A-10=3(60-A)-10

A-10+10=180-3A

A+3A=180

4A=180

A=180/4=45

Since A=3X

so, 45=3X

X=45/3=15

so present ages are 45 and 15 years.

Answer:

Let the age ofA be..x

Age of B...y

Then sum ..x+y=60.......

x-10=3(y-10)

x-10=3y-30

x-3y= -30+10

x-3y=-20
