Given :-

• The width of each road is 5 m

• The length and breath of a rectangular park is 70m and 45 m and parallel to its sides.

• The cost of constructing the road at per m^2. = 105 m

Solution :-

Width of the road = 5 m

According to the question,

Length of first parallel road = 70 m

[ Opposite sides of || are equal ]

Therefore,

The Area of first road = 5 * 70 = 350 sq.m

Now,

The Length of the second road = 45 m

Therefore,

Area of second road = 45 * 5 = 225 sq. m

Area of the common part of the cross roads with 5 m width that lies at the centre of the park

= 5 * 5 = 25

Now,

Total Area of roads = Area of first road + Area of second road - common area

Put the required values,

= 350 + 225 - 25

= 575 - 25

= 550 sq. m

Now

Cost of construction Per. sq m = Rs 105

Therefore,

Total Cost of constructing

= 550 * 105= Rs 57750.

Step-by-step explanation:

⭐️Question ::-

Two cross roads, each of width 5 m, run at right angles through the centre of a

rectangular park of length 70 m and breadth 45 m and parallel to its sides. Find

the area of the roads. Also find the cost of constructing the roads at the rate of

105 per m^2

⭐️Given ::-

• The width of each road is 5 m

• The length and breath of a rectangular park is 70m and 45 m and parallel to its sides.

• The cost of constructing the road at per m^2. = 105 m

⭐️Required Solution ::-

Width of the road = 5 m

According to the question,

Length of first parallel road = 70 m

[ Opposite sides of || are equal ]

Therefore,

The Area of first road = 5 * 70 = 350 sq.m

Now,

The Length of the second road = 45 m

Therefore,

Area of second road = 45 × 5 = 225 sq. m

Area of the common part of the cross roads with 5 m width that lies at the centre of the park

= 5 × 5 = 25

Now,

Total Area of roads = Area of first road + Area of second road - common area

Put the required values,

= 350 + 225 - 25

= 575 - 25

➡ 550 sq. m

Now

Cost of construction Per. sq m = Rs 105

Therefore,

Total Cost of constructing

= 550 × 105

➡ Rs 57750..
