12. Two kittens are on opposite sides of a field, 250 m apart. Kitten A runs at aconstant speed of 25 m/s due east on a collision course with kitten B, which istraveling west at 12 m/s. How much time elapses before the two kittenscollide?​

Let us assume the time taken by them to collide be t.

And in time t let the first kitten cover a distance x.

The second kitten wouldve covered a distance of 250-x.

Therefore as per the equation of motion

s = ut + 1/2at²

And acceleration is zero.

x = 25t

and 100-x = 12t

adding these two equations.

100 = 37 t

therefore t = 100/37 seconds.
