12. Two kittens are on opposite sides of a field, 250 m apart. Kitten A runs at aconstant speed of 25 m/s due east on a collision course with kitten B, which istraveling west at 12 m/s. How much time elapses before the two kittenscollide?

Let us assume the time taken by them to collide be t.
And in time t let the first kitten cover a distance x.
The second kitten wouldve covered a distance of 250-x.
Therefore as per the equation of motion
s = ut + 1/2at²
And acceleration is zero.
x = 25t
and 100-x = 12t
adding these two equations.
100 = 37 t
therefore t = 100/37 seconds.
