the worker required to dig 180m long canal are 12×3 = 36

that means a single person can dig 180/36 = 5m

so the efficiency of a person is 5 m/day

so man required to dig 200 m is = 200/5 =40 in a day

but for done this work in five days we need to have workers = 40/5 = 8 workers..

so 8 workers can dig 200m long canal in 5 days..
