Solution :

12 - x/5 = x
=> (60 - x)/5 = x
=> 60 - x = 5x
=> -x - 5x = -60
=> - 6x = - 60
=> x = 60/6 = 10

∴ x = 10

While transposing a No. from one side to another- Change the sign

i.e.

(+) becomea (-)
(-) becomes (+)
(×) becomes (÷)
(÷) becomes (×)
