12 year past, the ratio of Ram and Rahim's age is 2 is to 3 and if ratio of their present age is 5:6 , so what is the sum of their present age​

let the ratio of the present age of ram and rahim be 5x and 6x

then 12 years ago their age was 2x-12 and 3x-12

5x/6×=2x-12/3x-12

by cross multiplication we have,

5x(3x-12)=6x(2x-12)

15xsquare-60x=12xsquare-72x

15xsquare-12x2square=72x-60x

3xsquare=12x

x=4

ram present age = 5x=5×4=20 years

rahim present age=6x=6×4=24 years

sum of their present age is 20+24=44
