then 12 years ago their age was 2x-12 and 3x-12

5x/6×=2x-12/3x-12

by cross multiplication we have,

5x(3x-12)=6x(2x-12)

15xsquare-12x2square=72x-60x

3xsquare=12x

x=4

ram present age = 5x=5×4=20 years

rahim present age=6x=6×4=24 years
