The river is flowing in the shape of cuboid

h =3 m

l = 2 km = 2000 m (1 km = 1000 m. 2 k m = 2×1000= 2000 m )

b = 40 m

Amount of water which will fall into the sea = Volume = l×b×h = 2000× 40× 3 = 240000 m³

This is the volume covered in hours.So we need to convert it into seconds by dividing it by 60

i.e 240000÷ 60 = 4000 m³

∴ volume = 4000 m ³

To find the amount of water in litres , we have to multiply by 1000 ( ∵ 1 m³ = 1000 l)

i.e Amount of water which will fall into the sea = 4000×1000

= 4000000 litres

Answer:

7200m^3

Step-by-step explanation:

2.4km=2.4×1000m=2400m

Water flow in 1 hour=3×60=2400

Water flow in 1 min=3×60×2400/60=7200m^3 (ANS)
