now,

substract eq 1 by 3

12x + 3y = 5

12x + 16y = 6

-____-___ -___

o. - 13y = -1

y = 1 / 13 ______(4)

put eq 4 in any eq.

we get ;

3x + 4y = 6

3x + 4(1 / 13) = 6

3x + 4 /13 = 6

39x + 4 = 6(13)

39x + 4 = 78

39x = 78 - 4

39x = 74

x = 74 / 39
