To find : value of y

Solution:

Given equation :  12y + 6 - 6y - (- 9y + 4 ) = 3y - 9

  • we simplify each side of equation  by combining like terms together

⇒     12y + 6 - 6y + 9y - 4 = 3y - 9

  • we use addition and subtraction to isolate variable term on one side of equation.

⇒     12y -6y + 9y - 3y = -6 + 4 - 9

⇒       12y = -11

  • then we divide to solve for the variable

⇒    y = \frac{-11}{12}

Hence , value of y is \frac{-11}{12}
