GIVEN : body in equilibrium under action of 3 forces F1, F2, F3

TO FIND: incorrect statement

SOLUTION: we are given that a body is acted by three forces namely F1 , F2 and  F3.

when a body is in equilibrium even under the influence of three different forces, then the vector sum of all the forces is equal to zero.

These forces can be represented as the tree arms of a triangle whose sum will also be zero.

But the condition of equilibrium does not imply that the scalar sum of all the forces will also b zero. The scalar sum of all the forces will not have the value equal to zero. They might have some value whose value need not be zero.

Hence option 3 that is F1 + F2 + F3 = 0 is incorrect statement.
