13. A car travels 59.5 km in 3.5 litres of petrol:
(a) How many litres of petrol will be required to travel 357 km?
(b) How many km will it travel in 2.5 litres of petrol?

Answer:

(a) to find that how much distance car will cover 1 litre petrol divide 59.5 km by 3.5 litres petrol which =17km in one litre petrol

so to find that how much petrol required to cover 357 kilometre divide 357 by 17 = 21 litres

(b) to find that how much kilometre will car travel in 2.5 litres of petrol multiply 2.5 by 17= 42.5 Km

In 1 litre, the car will travel =59.5/3.5= 17 km.
