level ground, is attached to a string inclined at
60° to the horizontal, find the length of the string
to the nearest metre.

Answer:

Let AB the vertical length of kite from ground that is 75 m . AC as the length of string that is x m and angle ACB = 60°

In ∆ ABC where angle B is 90°

sin 60° = AB/ AC

√3/2. = 75 / x

x. = 75 ×2/ √3

x. = 150/√3

Now multiplying RHS with√3/√3

x. = 150× √3/√3×√3

x. = 150√3 /3

x. = 50√3

√3. = 1.73

x. = 50×1.73

x. = 86.5

So, the length of string is 86.5 m
